Wolfgang Sievers Wolfgang Sievers was born in Germany in 1913, and opened his first studio in 1938 in Melbourne, six months after his escape from Nazi Germany. His Bauhaus training contrasted sharply with the pictorialism prevalent in Australia at that time. This is the first published book about a photographer whose work is the finest post-war exponent of industrial photography in Australia.
